Veneers are thin laminates of tooth-coloured porcelain that are cemented to the front surface of teeth to improve their cosmetic appearance. They can be used to correct the appearance of stained, damaged or crooked teeth and to close small gaps (diastemas).Porcelain veneers will typically last between 8 -10 years. Due to the translucency of the material they have a very attractive natural appearance.
We take great care to ensure that we provide what our patients want. This means that before the veneers are constructed we will usually do a "mock-up" This can be done by building up the shape of the veneers on a model of our patient's mouth or even temporarily onto the patient's own teeth. We can also do this by cosmetic imaging - manipulating an image of the patient's teeth on the computer. Once our patient is happy with the planned outcome then the veneers are constructed.
